University of Adelaide – Elder Hall – 2015

Historic Elder Hall has a much brighter future

Elder Hall

The University of Adelaide engaged Sustainable Focus to design and deliver a high efficiency and high-performance lighting solution to replace the general and theatrical lighting at the Heritage listed Elder Hall Building. The existing lighting and lighting control systems were seamlessly replaced, ensuring the character of the building remained unchanged. The project was awarded the 2016 NECA SA Excellence Award for small commercial projects, in recognition of the significant annual energy and maintenance savings it has brought The University of Adelaide.

Key Outcomes

The old technology has been replaced with modern and superior high efficiency LED lighting, resulting in savings from both the reduced energy load as well as reduced maintenance costs.

The new lighting has been carefully installed on the existing lighting retractable bars in the existing locations, so that the upgrade does not alter the look and feel of the historic building.

A new Lighting Control System has been installed, replacing the old system and delivering more savings.
