Tour de Work - Adelaide Workplace Cycling Challenge

The Tour de Work - Adelaide Workplace Cycling Challenge was a free, fun competition to encourage people working in the Adelaide City Council area to relive the joy of riding a bike and discover the benefits of cycling to work. There were loads of prizes including six Avanti bikes, $5,000 of cycling gear and 400 Palace Nova cinema tickets.

Interesting Results

• 308,539 kilometres were cycled - the equivalent of cycling round the world 7.7 times!
• 19,865 trips were cycled, 17,264 of which for transport purposes
• 108 organisations
• 1,400 people took part
• 124 of whom hadn't been on a bike in the last year!
• 37 participants cycled over 1,000 kilometres

The Tour de Work was supported by the Department for Transport Energy and Infrastructure and was implemented by Adelaide City Council.
